The bridge to secondary school.

Years 4 to 6 are where children transition from concrete learning to more abstract, independent thinking. In Mathematics, they move from basic operations to multi-digit calculation, fractions, decimals, percentages and early algebraic reasoning. In English, they move from learning to read to reading to learn — interpreting and comparing texts, strengthening grammar and vocabulary, and writing structured imaginative, informative and persuasive pieces.

These are also the years where NAPLAN (Years 3 and 5) and GATE preparation (Year 5 for Year 7 entry) intersect. A strong foundation in upper primary ensures your child enters high school confident and capable — not catching up.

Our program is mapped to the 2026 WA SCSA scope and sequence for Mathematics and Englnce, then adjusted to each child’s current level and classroom.

Who this program suits

  1. Children building fluency with multiplication, division and fractions
  2. Children preparing for NAPLAN (Year 5) or GATE/ASET (Year 5–6)
  3. Students who need targeted gap-filling in specific maths or English areas
  4. Families wanting an SCSA-aligned program alongside school
  5. High-achievers seeking extension and enrichment beyond the classroom

Why families choose us for upper primary.

SCSA-aligned, not generic

Every session maps to the 2026 WA SCSA scope and sequence for Mathematics and English. Your child learns what their school expects, reinforced with clarity and confidence.

Two subjects, one program

Upper primary is where reading and writing become more demanding. We cover both Mathematics and English so your child builds number confidence and strong literacy together.

NAPLAN & GATE ready

Year 5 NAPLAN and GATE/ASET preparation are naturally supported through our curriculum-aligned content. No separate cramming program needed — the skills are built in.

Parents stay informed

After every session you receive a summary of what was covered, how your child performed and what to practise at home. No guessing — you always know where they stand.

Every enrolment includes.

Diagnostic assessment

A thorough baseline test in the first session to identify exactly where your child sits across the curriculum.

Personalised learning plan

A term-by-term plan aligned to SCSA, tailored to your child's gaps, pace and goals.

Worksheets & materials

SCSA-aligned worksheets, practice problems and homework sheets provided at no extra cost.

Session summaries

After every session, parents receive a brief report on what was covered, progress made and what to practise.

Years 4–6 program FAQs.

Q.

Can my child do both Maths and English, or just one?

Either works. Many families start with Mathematics and add English later, or vice versa. Each subject is tutored separately so the focus stays sharp.

Q.

Will this help with NAPLAN preparation?

Yes. Our program is aligned to the same SCSA curriculum that NAPLAN tests. Year 5 students in particular will find that our Maths and English content directly reinforces the numeracy, reading and writing skills assessed in NAPLAN. For dedicated NAPLAN prep, we also offer a separate NAPLAN Preparation program.

Q.

Will this help with GATE/ASET?

Our upper primary Maths and English programs strengthen the quantitative reasoning, reading comprehension and writing skills assessed in the ASET. For dedicated GATE preparation covering all four ASET components (including abstract reasoning and writing), see our GATE & Selective Schools Prep program.

Q.

How do you know what my child's school is covering?

We map each year level to the WA SCSA scope and sequence, then adjust in the first session against your child's actual class program. If you share your child's school term plan, we'll align directly to it.
