From parents and guardians:

  • Full name, phone number and email address
  • Residential address
  • Payment and billing information
  • Emergency contact details

From students:

  • Full name and date of birth
  • Year level and school name
  • Enrolled subjects and academic details
  • Learning needs, strengths and areas for improvement

From website visitors:

  • Information submitted through our enquiry, free trial, enrolment or diagnostic forms
  • Your email address if you join our blog mailing list
  • Messages you send us through the WhatsApp chat button on our website
  • Browsing data collected through cookies and analytics tools (see Section 10)

From people applying to tutor with us:

  • Name, phone number, email address and suburb
  • Subjects and year levels you can teach, qualifications, experience and availability
  • Working with Children Check details
  • Your CV or other documents you choose to upload

3. How We Collect Information

  • Forms on our website, including enquiry, free trial, enrolment, diagnostic, blog sign-up and tutor application forms

  • Conversations with parents or guardians on behalf of students
  • Class attendance records and student progress notes
  • Payment processing through third-party platforms (such as Stripe)

4. Why We Collect Information

We collect your information to:

  • Process enrolments and manage student registrations
  • Deliver tutoring services and track academic progress
  • Communicate session schedules, updates and learning feedback
  • Process payments and maintain financial records

  • Assess applications from people who want to tutor with us

We may collect sensitive information such as a student’s academic performance, learning difficulties, behavioural observations or medical conditions relevant to their participation in sessions. This information is handled with strict care and is only collected with your consent or when required by law. It is used solely to provide appropriate tutoring support.

6. Children and Parental Consent

EduLift works primarily with students under the age of 18. All personal information relating to minors is collected only with the knowledge and consent of a parent or legal guardian. Parents and guardians must accept this Privacy Policy on behalf of their child at the time of enrolment.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without parental consent. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

7. How We Use Your Information

Your personal information is used only for the purposes outlined in this policy. We will not use your information for any unrelated purpose without your consent, unless required by law.

We may use de-identified or aggregated data (which does not identify any individual) for internal analysis, service improvement or reporting.

You can browse our website without telling us who you are, and you may make general enquiries without giving your full name. We do need identifying details to enrol a student or process a payment.

8. Disclosure of Information

  • EduLift tutors and staff, to deliver tutoring services
  • Trusted service providers who help us run our business, including:
    • Payment processors (such as Stripe)
    • Website hosting providers (such as Hostinger)
    • Email delivery services
    • Messaging services (such as WhatsApp, operated by Meta)
    • Analytics tools (such as Google Analytics)
    • Video-conferencing platforms, where lessons are held online
  • Government authorities or legal entities, where required by law

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes. The service providers we engage are required to handle your information in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

Overseas disclosure. Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where their servers are located (for example Stripe, Google and Meta). We take reasonable steps to use providers that protect personal information to a standard consistent with the APPs.

9. Data Storage and Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Measures include:

  • Secure website hosting with SSL encryption
  • Secure payment processing through PCI-compliant providers (such as Stripe)
  • Restricted access to personal information (only authorised staff and tutors)
  • Private storage of tutor application documents, such as CVs, which only authorised EduLift staff can access
  • Regular review of our data handling practices

While no system is 100% secure, we are committed to maintaining strong safeguards. Personal information is stored on secure servers within Australia where possible, or with reputable international providers that meet appropriate data protection standards.

If a data breach is likely to result in serious harm to anyone whose information we hold, we will notify the people affected and, where required, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

10. Cookies and Analytics

Our website uses cookies and analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to:

  • Tutor applications, including uploaded CVs, are kept for as long as needed to assess the application and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted.
  • Mailing list and marketing details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them.

If you would like your or your child’s personal information deleted, please contact us in writing. We will comply with your request unless we are legally required to keep the information.

12. Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information EduLift holds about you
  • Request corrections to any inaccurate, incomplete or out-of-date information
  • Opt out of receiving marketing communications at any time
  • Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal requirements)
  • Withdraw consent for the collection or use of your information (noting this may affect our ability to provide services)

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 15. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request, and we aim to respond within 30 days.
