- Why Year 7 matters
The bridge year, done properly.
Year 7 is where primary-school maths and science habits have to grow up fast. Students meet algebra for the first time, start reasoning formally about geometry and probability, and move from describing the world in Science to investigating it — planning experiments, analysing data and building evidence-based arguments.
Because so much of Year 7 is foundational for Years 8–10, gaps that open here tend to compound. Our Year 7 program is built to close them early: each term’s tutoring is mapped to what’s actually being taught in WA classrooms that term, so sessions reinforce school learning instead of running on a separate track.
This page focuses on Mathematics and Science specifically. English, Humanities and other Year 7 subjects are tutored through our broader Secondary Tutoring program (Years 7–10).
Who this program suits
- Students moving from Year 6 who want a confident start to secondary maths & science
- Students who are managing but want to build genuine fluency, not just keep up
- Students who’ve fallen behind on a specific topic, such as algebra or fractions
- Families wanting an SCSA-aligned check-in alongside school, term by term
- Why Year 7 matters
The bridge year, done properly.
Both subjects are organised around WA’s four-term school year, so tutoring tracks what’s happening in the classroom. Toggle between Mathematics and Science below.

- Our teaching strategy
How we actually run a lesson.

- Why EduLift for Year 7
What makes this program different.
Small groups, maximum 6
One-to-one or capped small-group sessions, so the tutor genuinely knows where each student is up to — not just what topic the class is on.
Term-mapped, not generic
Each term’s content is built around what’s actually being taught in WA Year 7 classrooms, so tutoring reinforces school rather than running on a separate track.
Maths & Science specific tutors
Your child works with a tutor who specialises in that subject’s content and exam style at Year 7–10 level, not a generalist covering everything.

- Common questions
Year 7 program FAQs.
Q.
Can my child do Mathematics and Science together, or only one?
Either works. Many families start with one subject and add the second once they see how sessions run. Each subject is tutored separately so the focus stays sharp.
Q.
Will this follow what my child's actual school is teaching?
We map each term to a typical WA Year 7 scope and sequence, then adjust in the first session against your child's actual class program and any current assessment dates.
Q.
What if my child is ahead, or behind, the term topics shown here?
The diagnostic assessment at the start picks this up. We can move faster through familiar material or spend longer consolidating a weaker topic before progressing.
