The bridge to secondary school.

Years 4 to 6 are where children transition from concrete learning to more abstract, independent thinking. In Mathematics, they move from basic operations to multi-digit calculation, fractions, decimals, percentages and early algebraic reasoning. In Science, they begin conducting fair tests, recording observations with formal instruments and drawing evidence-based conclusions.

These are also the years where NAPLAN (Years 3 and 5) and GATE preparation (Year 5 for Year 7 entry) intersect. A strong foundation in upper primary ensures your child enters high school confident and capable — not catching up.

Our program is mapped to the 2026 WA SCSA scope and sequence for Mathematics and Science, then adjusted to each child’s current level and classroom.

Can my child do both Maths and Science, or just one?

Either works. Many families start with Mathematics and add Science later, or vice versa. Each subject is tutored separately so the focus stays sharp.

Will this help with NAPLAN preparation?

Yes. Our program is aligned to the same SCSA curriculum that NAPLAN tests. Year 5 students in particular will find that our Maths content directly reinforces the numeracy skills assessed in NAPLAN. For dedicated NAPLAN prep, we also offer a separate NAPLAN Preparation program.

Is the Science program hands-on?

Our upper primary Maths program strengthens the quantitative reasoning skills assessed in the ASET. For dedicated GATE preparation covering all four ASET components (including abstract reasoning and writing), see our GATE & Selective Schools Prep program.

Is this the same as your Secondary Tutoring program?

Where possible, yes. We embed the SCSA science inquiry skills throughout — posing testable questions, planning fair tests, recording data and drawing conclusions. In-person sessions include practical elements; online sessions use demonstrations and virtual simulations.

How do you know what my child's school is covering?

We map each year level to the WA SCSA scope and sequence, then adjust in the first session against your child's actual class program. If you share your child's school term plan, we'll align directly to it.
